Hello, world (again)
Why I'm keeping a homepage again, and how the timeline files away old memories without lying about when I wrote them.
I keep coming back to the same idea: a website should feel like a place. Not a feed, not a profile someone else owns, a room you can decorate, with a window and a plant and a warm cup of something nearby.
So this is mine again. Somewhere hand-built to write things down and actually keep them. Some of it will be about now. A lot of it, eventually, will be about then: old memories filed back into a timeline that runs all the way to 1988.
How this works
When I write a post about something that happened in the past, the site is honest about it: it slots the entry into the timeline at the moment it really happened, but it tells you plainly that I wrote it later. Memory works like that: the writing and the remembering rarely share a date.
For now it’s mostly empty, and that’s okay. Every good place starts that way. Pull up a chair. ☕
