Hi, I'm Todd.
Software by day, building websites since the fourth grade. At the heart of it I'm a pretty ordinary guy who likes computers and writing things down.
I've had some version of a personal site since I was a kid with a dial-up modem and too much time. This is the latest one. A place to write things down before I forget them: trips, music, the people I like, whatever I'm building.
By day I work with software. The rest of the time I write about everything else: trips, music, the people I like, the occasional strong opinion about pinball. I still think the best things on the internet were made by one person who cared too much about them, and that's what I'm going for here.
This site is part blog, part timeline. Posts about today land at today; older memories get filed back into the year they actually happened. If that sounds like your kind of thing, stick around.
- NOW BUILDING This website
- LISTENING Lady Gaga & Enya
- PLAYING Pinball, ranked
- LEARNING Japanese, slowly
- Lady Gaga (most of the catalog, Chromatica most of all), Enya, Ava Max, Bastille
- Japan: Tokyo, the trains, Enoshima, and kaiten sushi
- Pinball, competitively enough to watch my ranking
- Learning Japanese, slowly and for real
- iOS apps, smart-home wiring, home theater, a tidy network
- Home projects: off-white walls, dark blue accents, quartz counters
- Overpriced, fake, money-grab experiences
- Fine dining that feels performative
- Clutter, dated finishes, and awkward layouts
- Vague generic advice, and being misread or talked down to
